KRAKOW

makes a perfect destination for culture lovers, whether just dropping in for a weekend or spending more time exploring the city and the surrounding region of Malopolska. Krakow itself is a treasure; one of those rare places where you can follow in the very footsteps of its fascinating past because the city retains its historic layout of streets large and small. Krakow also offers a broad spectrum of cultural events and venues such as museums, art galleries, theatres, historic cellars, clubs, bars and restaurants with live music, the essential fabric of a city that balances modern delights and historic charm in a most delightful manner.

Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic

Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic in Kraków is the most important and one of the largest concert halls in Kraków. It is located in a building at ul. Zwierzyniecka 1 whose construction was completed in 1931 according to a design by the architect Józef Pokutyński. The inauguration concert took place on February 3, 1945.

In March 2009, Paweł Przytocki was appointed to the position of General and Artistic Director of the Philharmonic.

St. Peter’s and Paul’s Church in the heart of Krakow Old Town

Thanks to its good location, great acoustics and beautiful baroque decor, it is one of most popular concert venues in Krakow, especially for well known vocal-instrumental works.
